First day on the job

Hey everyone! So today I started at Free the Children and I need to talk to my IPMP people! I felt like a lemming following all the suits this morning with the million other people on their morning commute. I'm going downtown from Burlington and I hate how long it takes. I left really early this morning though because I didn't know how long it would take. I started off on a frantic foot as I managed to literally break my shirt on the way to work and ran around like a crazed woman trying to find a shop open so I could buy a new one!!

The job itself, I didn't really start today. I got the whole introduction thing, along with some envelope stuffing and wrote a biography on myself. However, everyone was extremely friendly and the work they do there is pretty awesome. I'm very excited to start my actual work that I'll be doing. I'll be the key contact person for the organization with OCIC and doing proposals and odd things.

I'm STRESSED though!! I don't know how I'm going to actually complete these 3 classes without going to class! Once I figure out what all the assignments are and the due dates I'll take it from there. I'm hoping groups will adopt me even though I won't be in class. I know I'll get all the work done but I'm not sure how accomodating the teachers will be in allowing me to write tests on certain days.

Anyways, I just wanted to let people know it went well and they're all extremely welcoming if anyone ever wanted a tour of the place. I missed the class today and wished everyone was there with me to make it easier! Class with everyone is safe - the real world without IPMPers to help me was unsettling but exciting. I hope everyone keeps in touch!
